Pattern Name: Granny's Flower Garden
Age: 1930s
Quilting: hand pieced and hand quilted
Material: BEAUTIFUL flour and feedsack novelty print calicos on a white cotton calico backing; blue and white floral whole cloth back
Measurements: 78x70
Heritage: This quilt was found in Illinois and is pristine! This is one of the best grandmother's flower garden quilts that I have ever found. The colors are bright and vibrant and the piecing is excellent. This was made by a master quilter. The edging is a scalloped edging bound with a knife-edge binding. Overall the piece presents beautifully and would be a precious quilt to use or display
Condition: Overall the piece is in FANTASTIC shape. There is barely a stain or area of wear to the entier quilt. This quilt has obviously been treasured over the years. This would not be a quilt to wash, but to leave outside in the sun (under a clean white sheet) for a few warm, sunny days. This is the traditional cleaning method for these types of quilts and would be appropriate here.
