Pattern Name: Open Window
Age: 1890s
Quilting: Utility Quilted
Material: red and beige calico cottons
Measurements: 68”x78”

Heritage: This quilt was found in Alabama. This is such a unique quilt because it retains its original maker’s pencil marks. The quilt is pristine other than a section of sun fade (see pictures). It features a beautiful open window pane style pattern with tiny little arrows throughout the piece. The quilt also features a fantastic red triangle trim! Its really a remarkable piece with all of its historical quirks. This is a thicker quilt and quite soft. It would make quite a statement displayed prominently in the home (albeit its a great bed-quilt, too).

Condition: Overall the piece is in excellent condition. It is a solid quilt with no structural or construction issues. It is so very soft and the colors vibrant, save for the area of sun fade at the center. The makers makers are prominent throughout!
