Pattern Name: Texas Star
Age: 1930s - 1940s
Quilting: utility quilting and self-quilting throughout; hand pieced and hand quilted
Material: colorful cotton calico
Measurements: 74x74
Heritage: This quilt was found in Ohio. This is truly a WONDERFUL and colorful Texas star quilt. The colors and bright and vibrant. The combination of colors is really masterful. The quilt has been hand pieced and hand-quilted. There is a beautiful yellow border with fussy quilting throughout. The piece is strong and sturdy and would be a great collector's piece.
Condition: Overall the piece is in great condition for its age. The quilt itself is quite sturdy, with no rips or tears. There are a few small storage stains, but not too noticeable. Overall the quilt is still strong and would be a great piece to use or display. This would not be a quilt to wash, but to leave outside in the sun (under a clean white sheet) for a few warm, sunny days. This is the traditional cleaning method for these types of quilts and would be appropriate here.
