Pattern Name: Triple Irish Chain
Age: 1890s - 1910s
Quilting: utility quilting and self quilting - machine pieced and hand quilted
Material: solid turkey red and natural cotton calico with madder red dyed cotton backing
Measurements: 74"x72"
Heritage: This quilt was found in Tennessee. This quilt is truly a workhorse of a quilt. It is thick, soft, and quite sturdy. It is made of beautiful reds that we all love. What is truly unique is the back of the quilt! It is an entire piece of madder dyed cotton calico. It's RED. You simply do not find backings that are this solid color. The quilting is self quilting and utility quilting throughout. Overall a good, sturdy piece.
Condition: Overall the piece is in great condition. There is some small pilling that is occurring in various places, but nothing terrible. There are a few storage stains or two and some normal wear to the binding. Overall the piece is in great shape and would be perfect in any collection - especially for those of us that love a good GEOMETRY!
